I only played the demo, but I found the gameplay boring, personally. You can try that and see if you like it.
I had some good hopes for this game, then I saw some gameplay videos and was a little nervous because they didn't look very exciting. Then I played the demo, and was disappointed. It may have a fantastic story though, but that's not enough for me.

I, personally, won't even be renting it.

But again, I've only played the demo.

Check this channel out has gameplay of it. http://www.youtube.com/user/darksydephil

I would also like to add that the game starts off slow, but gets better and better. Its a one of a kind game and I say you give it a try.

I recommend buying it.. First of all you'll be supporting the developer Quantic Dream. Secondly, the game has replay value especially if you lost a character or two through your first play-through.. I imagine I'll play it 3-4 times in total over the life of my PS3. The demo got me hooked, the game is sick.

rent or don't bother... it's a 3d movie with you directing it. one mistake and you're going to repeat those button sequences again.

That's only true at the start. Sometimes you have a set number of times to get it right. This number gets much smaller as the game goes on. Remember, you can die in this game. The repeated button sequences are only when you have time to retry it.

I'm enjoying this game. I don't get all the hate for it. It's really meant to be played alone. Each person has their own experience. Do what you feel should be done and enjoy the first play through for what it is.

If you liked their other games then I highly recommend picking up Heavy Rain. It really stands out amongst the other games that exist in the market today.
