Dude they will have to. The 360 has been out a year longer and the price will drop soon. So if Sony doesn't drive themselfs into bankruptcy then they might not make it anyways. After all parents are the ones usually buying these things and money is almost always the first factor.

A $399 price tag would be awesome, but I just don't see how they can do it. The amount of money they will be losing per console would be simply unprecedented. And Sony is not rolling in mountains of cash, it's not like they can just absorb major losses. It's a bold play if true, almost certainly brought on by the X360's reported end-of-year price cuts. But it's also risky...if they don't sell a jillion PS3s and make a fortune on game and Blu-Ray licensing, Sony will be in a world of hurt.

@ $399 i'd buy 3. highly unlikely that it would be at the price point, but it sure would be nice.

lol, theres no way. Or heck, Sony sell em for that cheap, and be kissin ye arses goodbye in 2 years . I really dont get Sony. All they seem to be doing as of late is lose millions after millions.. But it likely wont be at $400, way to much of a loss.
