Ace combat to go portable
Quote:
April 26, 2006 - Namco's Ace Combat series hasn't changed much since it debuted in 1995. Longtime fans will quickly point out the benefits of such consistency, and hey, they'd be right. After all, no other franchise captures the speed and glory of aerial battles as well as Ace Combat. At least not on consoles, anyway. But as much as Namco has stuck with the established formula, things will soon get a whole lot different. Well, a whole lot smaller, anyway.
Namco unveiled the first PSP iteration of the series, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, at its pre-e3 event in San Francisco. It shoots for the same level of action and flexibility as the console versions, only shrunk to portable form. It includes just about everything fans have come to expect, such as realistic planes and other military hardware, as well as a story that blends history with a little bit of fiction. And when it comes to art and style, it looks just like the bigger-screen games.
