This isnt the first time Ive heard about this. Sony has pushed 90nm tech too far. Did they really expect something with 300+ million transistors to run at 3.2GHz? Thats like expecting an FX-60 to run at 3.2GHz with minimal cooling. Not gonna happen.

Could spell trouble for that taret $499 price point. If yields are low, prices go up (or Sony's losses per unit grow even larger). No way around it.

Sony would be better off with using a Prescott. Easy to program for, would actually "run" at 3.2GHz and even though its hot as hell it wouldnt die from its own heat.
