Default Ps3 controller has no rumble

back to the rumblepad for you!.....wait, you cant do that either....

http://theinquirer.net/?article=31805

Quote:
THE OUTFIT which took Sony to the cleaners for nicking its vibrating controller, Immersion, says that removing the technology from the PS3 was a backward step.
Sony said that the reason that its new controller can't vibrate is because it interferes with the technology which allows you to interact by waiving it about.

However, according to Immersion boss Victor Viegas, the problem is because the controller is too light and flimsy.

A lot of the developers who had built vibration into the PS2 were also disappointed that the technology had been removed, he said.

To be fair to Sony, Viegas has managed to extract $90 million in a lawsuit against teh Japanese corporation, for using its patented vibrating controller idea.

Losing that sort of money could make a lot of people go off the idea. We are waiting for the estate of Rev. W. V. Awdry, of Thomas the Tank Engine fame, to sue someone over the idea of a FAT controller.

I really didn't care about the rumble anyway. On my PS2 I have logitech wireless so I turn it off most of the time because the batteries last longer. No real loss for me.

It probably doesn't have rumble because it would most likely interfere with the tilting functionality of it.
