well my ps2 died after having it since ps2 came out, well i want to buy a new one and i am not sure which model to get. should i get the new slim line model or the normal one? is tehre any difference between the two models?

well if you get the thick one look at the serial number. anything in the 30000 series and below are no good. this is because the plastic lens to the laser. the slim uses a glass lens. hope this helps.

Hmm. My first question would be to strongly consider whether it is even worth it to get another PS2 this late in its lifecycle. Sure the PS3 is a long way away, but I might consider whether my dollars are better spent on getting an X360, which will be good for years to come.
If you have a stack of PS2 games that you have not finished, then I guess a new PS2 makes sense. They're only what, $129 or so these days? I would get the slimline, probably. Unless you intend to drop a mod chip in, I think it's easier on the fat ones. But I'm well removed from the PS2 scene these days, I might be off base on that assumption.
