Does a PSU make a difference to an Aquamark 3 score ?? - Overclock.net

Hi guys i was just wondering can a PSU affect your scores all that much. I understand when componenets dont get enough power they can performa properly which will affect your score. I recently went form a Q-tec 650Watt 25 amps to a HIPER 580WATT 38 AMP i was wondering if this would improve a score so to speak as ive been getting a low score for my system of 45,000

What do you get 45000 in?
And no, they don't give that much extra. Unless your old one was a sucky one that went from 10.2V to 14.7V

To my knowledge I doubt it can. But maybe because of the amp increase and the power your system now has to use. It can possibly increase the score slightly due to the fact that the PSU is now not limiting ur parts. Idk.

A PSU doesn't really make a difference in benchmarking or regular system use but if you overclock, volt mod, or do anything that would require more power consumption thats when the PSU starts to matter, high amperage is one of key things to look for in a PSU.

As long as your rails are stable then a PSU doesn't really matter when benchmarking

This was my thoughts. Yes i got a system score of 45,000 in AQ3 i will do my score again tommorow and update you on it.

You will prolly go up like from 45,000 to maybe.. 45,100. But with the extra AMPs.. (thats a big difference between the two).. you mgiht see a difference. Benchmark it and find out.
