Im going to build a new AM2 rig for a friend and I was wondering if an Xclio Goodpower 500W PSU will be adequate to run the following at stock and possibly slightly overclocked:

Also if you have heard of any compatibility issues with the listed components fill me in since I have very little information about the M2N-2 and am generally relying on ASUS' reputation here. ![]()

I find that offensive!

No. Go for a good, well-known brand. I would suggest the OCZ GameXStream or the Seasonic S12-600W. Another good, lower priced alternative is the Hiper Type-R 580W.

Sunbeam NUUO is great for the price, ~$80.00 CAD for a stable 550 watt PSU

Well I saw a review which was made last October which said it could handle a powerful system, but I had doubts since that review was done with a FX53 and a X850XT PE, which seems a bit dated now.

Get a Hiper. Dual 12V rails, good amperage, looks sweet, modular, 580W, SLI capable, and probably around $120 CAD, but I'm not very good with that conversion, so no promises.

I think you will be happy with any of the mentioned PSU's but if I had to pick one it would be the Hiper because of its price and peformance among other things.

If you have a windowed case, get a Hiper for sure. However, if there's no window and/or money is really tight, the Sunbeam NUUO is an awesome deal, too. Either of those would suit you very very well for a while to come.

I'd go for the OCZ GameXStream or the FSP Epsilon (they're identical). The Hiper is nice, but a little low on the 12V rails (about 30A max total load on the 12V rails, which is not a lot for a 580W unit).
Here are the FSP versions: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=290213 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=290214 Not sure the NUUO is easy to get in the UK... and I think the NUUO is a little light also for a high-end rig.. I like to have some headroom personally ![]()

Nothing to excuse yourself for. The NUUO is a good PSU according to many users here. It'll do very nice in a mid-range rig, but once a X1900 comes in the picture, you need power. I've seen ATITool shooting up to 25A at stock speeds and 30A when overclocked for my duo here (and that's only the X1900's! - My opty adds another easy 10A)
thus, a single X1900 can dray upward to 15A, the CPU adds like 10A, and other stuff adds it own array of amps also. 30A is a barebones minimum for a rig like that. Thus my advise to get a bit more power.
