And the 750W comes out on July 25th. with a price tag of $199. Now, I've always liked Single Rail PSUs better than ANY double, tripple or Quad Rail PSU, now....a Single 49A is sweet.....music to my ears and for that I'm sure as hell will pay $200 for a PSU, well the 610 is graciously priced at $159, excellent price compared to some PSUs around here for that same price overall. Right now that's the top dog IMO. Nothing beats the PCP&C now that they're priced to compete with the "others". What are your thoughts? *********************************************** Post # 42 for an update, after 3 weeks. Last edited by Nasgul : 08-29-06 at 12:45 AM. |

I'm happy for the widespread adoption of EPS12V.

Well, check out the specs of the Silencer 750W:
![]() 60A in the +12V rail? There's something fishy there now, not sure if that's possible or even the 49A in the 610W. I'm wondering if they use mutiple rails but ultimately give the calculations as a single rail. Will have to call them out tomorrow and find out. In the meantime, that's a great price for what you'll be getting...........should I or should I not? |

60 amps! Dang! They don't look huge like some of their others are either. Nice.

I haven't called, I will tomorrow. Either way, I think a PCP&C Silencer is worth every penny, specially the 610W and 750W. I almost bought the 470 just about 8 months ago but since that it was going to go in my 2nd rig, I decided to save the cash............now for my Conroe build I'm thinking to go all out in the 750W. We'll see how much cash I'm willing to shell out in the Conroe rig overall.
Why don't I like dual (tripple, quad or penta) +12V rails? Because for overclocking an Intel (Netburst) CPU, single +12V rail PSUs were a lot more stable. I had two dual rail PSUs and both cases the OC failed, but everything changed when I got the OCZ PowerStream 520W and its massive (back then) 34A +12v rail. If that 750W holds true to be a 60A, chances of me getting it are most likely........... But we'll see how they put a 60A in the +12V rail. I have a feeling they're giving us the combined Amps into a single +12v rail, saying Multiple Rails but stating the +12V produces that ammount. Hopefully, they prove me wrong. |
