I just bought a computer for office use, the specs are
Pentium 4 524 3.06 GHz 1 GB DDR2 533 MHz (512 x 2, different manufacturers) 80 GB noisy HD Integrated Graphics (made by S3, very horrible) 300W Power Supply. I'm not going to try to overclock this computer, so I'd like to know how much hardware a normal 300W power supply can handle. I'm planning to add some parts from an older computer, and they are: a 40 GB 5400 rpm HD, GeForce MX4400, and a FireWire PCI card. Do you think a 300W could handle those additions? And also, can you explain what are the symptoms of a power supply when it can't give all the power? Thanks alot!

I think you might bbe able to keep it up with a 300. i would go with 400 just incase, but it doesn't look like those will take too much. and if the PSU isn't enough, your computer won't turn on. and if it does, it will start to turn on and shut off almost immediately.

You may just get away with it but i know you would be fine with a 400Watt PSU.
