He stated $70 in his initial post... but he'll definately end up with a PSU that'll give him trouble with his rig. The FSP and Antec Smartpower will probably run it, but little headroom is left.

The PSU closest to budget I'd recommend is the Antec Truepower II 550W, which is now $89.99 on Newegg with free shipping.

Otherwise, price will go up for a PSU that meets his needs.

The Hiper is a very nice PSU, but more for mid-range rigs. It only delivers 350W (or just over 29A) on the 12V rails, which is quite low for a 580W unit. The 550W Truepower delivers 36A on the 12V rails.

I was thinking about that Antec Truepower II 550W, it is expensive but I know it will do the job. I built a system with that Antec SmartPower 500W, and it runs good, the system was(XFX7900GT, Athln 3800+, 160GB sata HDD, 3 led fans, Asus A8N-E, 2 dvd burner drives) so I know that the smartpower will run my system good. As I said I wont be overclocking this system, maybe the gfx card a little, other than that not much overclocking will be going on. I was just looking for something a little cheaper than the smartpower 500W.

I cannot reccomend the Hiper power 580w Modular PSU highly enough! Looks absoloutley awesome, modular PSU with detachable power connectors, all sleeved in blue (or black if you choose) and great power output!

10/10 here

$70 might not be enough to get you a PSU that will last you long, spend a little more and get some quality in your rig.

If you think the Smartpower will hold up, then do get it. I still back up the Truepower, since it's just that bit more powerful.

I think that if you spend so much on the rest of your rig, you should get a good PSU. The PSU is the heard of any system, and should not be overlooked, and especially not skimped on.

I might(most likely) just get the Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply just to be on the safe side, a little more $$ than I wanted to spend, but this one is SLI certified and very powerful and a LOT of people recommend it, so I guess the extra $30 would be worth it, because I do plan on getting 2 7900GT's later on, so this PSU will be ready for my future upgrades.
