Default Hiper 580W Modular Enough?

Hey all

Was just wondering if I add a second card to SLi my setup, will my PSU be able to handle it?

My system will be:

ASUS A8N-SLi SE PCI-E nForce4 Mobo
AMD Athlon 3700+ San Diego
1GB OcUK Value (to be 2GB G.Skill HZ PC4000 at christmas)
2x eVGA 7600GT @ 1600 / 607 each
2 IDE hard drives
1 DVD/RW Disk

....will a Hiper Type-R 580W Modular PSU be able to run this setup?

Cheers all!
John

Yeah it should be enough, it has 20A and 18A on the two 12v rails to give enough power to your 7600GTs and HDs. It a stable PSU and can help you OC well too

Yep it is a stout PSU and can definitely run 2 cards--however you will have to jumper 2 molex to the second PCIe adapter--no real probs there--should be fine.

Cheers for the help guys.

However on one site, it said that a single 7600GT used 198Watts, so wouldn't 2 use 496Watts ... if so .. is there enough power left for my PC

198 * 2 = 396 not 496

Try using this PSU calculator to find out what it recomends...
