I just got my silencer 610 from pc power & cooling. at first impression it is lighter than I thought it would be... I'll have to wait and see how it stacks up to my S12-600

yeah, I put it in, I haven't taken out my multi meter at all, but it seems to be doing fine. Actually when I took my S12 out I realized that they both weighed about the same. The silencer 610 is a lot longer though.

noise wise the silencer 610 is a little louder than my s12. I jumped both of them outside the case and listened to both of them. the s12 is definately quieter, the silencer 610 emited a slight humming sound when turned on

I beg to differ. My silencer is by far the quietest PSU I've ever had. I don't hear a humming sound either and this thing doesn't even get hardly warmed.

have you compared it to a Seasonic S12-600? if not then you really can't even beg to differ...

After having the new psu installed for a couple days I have to say that the Silencer 610 is definately LOUDer than then the S12. I've got some side-by-side pics that I'll upload sometime when I get the chance.

I have the S12, and I recommend it any time it comes up. It's the most rock solid PSU available. No debate. It just is.

Quietest one you'll probably ever find, either...unless you get a fanless PSU...

I'm pretty sure the OCZ Game Xstream comes already sleeved black (my Powerstream 600W did) so if you get that you're work is already done .

Sideburns, it is one of the quietest PSUs around, but don't go around saying its the most rock solid, a PC Power and Cooling (any of them) will beat the crap out of our PSU up and down, that's not to say it isn't an amazing PSU, it is, but it isn't THE best.

I'd say that the Seasonic S12-600 very well just might... And looking at the build quality of my new PC Power & Cooling psu... they are both very similar.

and just an fyi... there has been some recent speculation that the PC Power & Cooling silencer psus are actually made by Seasonic who would have ever thought!?!? LOL... and to think a week ago I spent more money on my silencer 610 then I could have gotten another S12-600 (sleeved black from the facotry no less) LOL.
