I picked up a Battery Back-Up and Line Conditioner today. I also got a 480 NeoPower, but I don't quite like the 18A on the 12v rail. I hope this will solve all of my power issues.

Ok, I see that now, 18A on one and 15A on the other. But, this was really an impulse buy , and assuming that the line cond. will solve my problems, I should be ok with the X-Connect once i get it replaced.

Actually it was 3, 2 Ultra's and one Alienware. They have all been replaced (or are in the process). Still sucks.

I would just like to let you guys know that an APC is not the cure all sometimes.

I had a friend I built a computer for worked great for him then all of a sudden he started having boot problems and lock ups .. Shutdowns.. Bsods. I told him to bring it over for me to look at and I pluged it in everything worked fine. So I went ahead cleaned his PC out and got rid of all the junk that you would pick up from surfing the web.

He takes it home still having the same problem.. I started to think man what is up with that. I asked him if he was having any problem electric in his house he said no but he told me he had an APC. Turns out that the APC was still working but was not supplying the right Voltages to the PC .

After he unpluged the APC and just put the Surge strip to the wall his problems were gone.

Well, good news ... sorta ... Power Company came out to check out the power to the house. It turns out that all of the main power connections were loose and had poor contact. Still running after a couple days with the ups and all is good. Except of course for my crap OC... but that is for a different forum.
