Ok, so i have a PSU that has crapped out on me. Now, I need to RMA it, but I don't want the same one back (i don't want to continue to get PSU's that will go out on me). Anyway, what typeof RMA should I use if i don't want either of the following to happen:
1) they put it back on the shelf (i don't want to screw someone else over) 2) they send the same one back (i don't want to get that one again) I know they'll probably have a restocking fee of some type or soemthing like that, but what ever...$12 isn't too bad to learn a lesson.

Just mark 'defective product' on your RMA and ask for a refund. If you talk to someone directly, they usually waive restocking fee....as I have done before!

I've found the only time they charge a restocking fee is if you are just returning for a refund. So you will get a restocking fee.

How long have you had it? you can't just send back a broken part like you're returning it...
__________________if it's broken and will be covered by the RMA process then you will have to discuss with them what they will offer you If you haven't had it long (like less than 30 days) then you could just return it like you said with the restocking fee and buy something else. never mention the broken part... however that's not an RMA persee, that's a return.

i've had it for 2 months. It's still covered under the RMA process... and the power here at the house is very crappy (usually a circuit breaks weekly). The problem is supposed to be fixed soon, but to help my computer out, i plan on getting a new PSU and a UPS that will shut down my computer softly when the power goes out.
