Default Any way to decrease noise?

I bought myself a "PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510-SLI ATX12V 510W" powersupply and it is by far the loudest part in my computer setup. Is there any way I can decrease the sound this things makes?

Assuming it's the fan/s that are making the noise, open it up and replace the stock fan/s with one designed to be quiet. I'm sure you could find a fan that'll move the same amount of air as the stock one, whilst being a lot quieter.

It'll probably void your warranty though .

Anywhere. They should be standard fans. Either 120mm, or 80mm, whatever fan/s the PSU has. Open it up first, just to check that the fans are the standards type, but there's no reason they shouldn't be.

You may have to cut the fan wires and link them up to the new fan/s manually (ie with a connector, or just some electrical tape), or there might be suitable sockets inside for the fan/s to be replaced, it depends somewhat on the quality of the PSU.

Just remember to get the same CFM as the existing fans, but with a lower dBa and keep in mind that opening up your PSU will likely void it's warranty. If you're not keen on modding your PSU, or are concerned about keeping your warranty intact, it might be a better option to simply send back (or sell) your existing PSU and buy a quieter one.

just be sure it does use a standard fan... many psus use fans that are not standard size (they're skinnier) yate Loon makes great fans that are quiet. Yate loon makes the fans that are in Seasonic's S12 line and I'm pretty sure they make the fans for the PC Power & Cooling Silencer series of psus.

another route would be to replace your turbo cool 510 w/ a silencer 610

If you change the fan out for a quieter one you risk overheating. Knowing PCP&C the fan is only running as fast as it has to in order to keep the unit working.
