Default PSU 5V Problem

Hi. I was just looking at my PSU voltages, and notices that the 5V was especially low under load (4.8V) while it is abt 4.9V idle. My overclock that has been stable for 6 months is no longer stable, and was wondering if there is anything causing this? Do I need a new PSU?

Yea and your 12V rail Voltages dont look too good either, I mean 12.35V I get about 12.1V on my Antec.

Agreed.. I am more concerned about the 12V rail, esp. since Asus Probe does tend to report slightly low voltages (at least, that's my experience).

Get a new, quality, PSU.

Funny, my OCZ shows similar readings in PC Probe 2.

12v - 12.25
5v 4.94
3v 3.3

Well, this is PC Probe 2 :P

So it's probably coded better than the older PC Probe, but it won't work on older boards IIRC......hopefully this GameXstream is working right

My FSP (which is identical to the GameXStream) consistenly reported like 12.3V on my old rig (In BIOS 12.05V, in Windoes 12.3V). In my current rig (new mobo, CPU, RAM, everything else the same), it reports 11.98V in BIOS, but 11.76V in windows

Should do multimeter thing... hehehehe those sensors are wacky

your PSu should be fine, when i had your PSU I got fairly the same readings on asus probe too. Then I used a multimeter and all was well.

Heh, my spelling SUCKS!!! What wattage PSU would you peeps recommend, as I am aiming for a decent Crossfire setup for my next rig, and I want to use my next PSU for that too.

Antec has the 2.0 and the Trio. What would be better as they are a similar price. Also have my eye on an OCZ ModStream. Any thoughts?
