I heard Modular PSU is not reliable, but this is form SilverStone so any good/bad review on it?

I hear that a lot too but I have yet to see any actual evidence to support that...

Anyway, If I were you I'd look into this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256006

They're based on Etasis units, and in PSU market, these Silverstones are in the top 3 along with Zippy's and the PC P&C Turbo-Cool series

I wouldn't say modular psus aren't reliable... they just aren't as good as a regular psu

It's one thing to claim it does, it's another to back up that claim with evidence. The whole non-modular>modular thing is echoed in a lot of places but not once have I actually seen it proven.

Note that this is "opinion"

you'll just have to test out a mod and non-mod to see for yourself. I tried both and the non-mod is slightly better

Finally *some* evidence, I mean, the increased risk of failure and PSU size point in that FAQ are moot IMO but the resistance point does have a leg to stand on.

Still, the added resistance is small enough to completely ignore in well built PSUs. It's all FUD if you ask me
