I'm about to order a new PSU and have been looking at the following PSUs most seriously:
OCZ GameXStream 700 $115.00 PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 (non quad model) $189.16 Seasonic M12 700 $219.37 The OCZ seems to come highly recommended, and the price is right, the specs look good on paper, but I've heard about them having issues with ripple for example: http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_deta...=35&page_num=2 I'd like to be able to buy a quality PSU that will last me, and not be too likely to do anything too dramatic (such the Silencer 750 in that scary "burning hair" thread!) but I'm also on a budget. The Silencer as posted above is the non-quad version which is at Frys and the price has come down as they clear out the older stock, and is realistically about as pricey as I can manage without good enough cause. I had intended for this to be my PSU, but I’ve put that on hold after reading that other thread. I've also looked at the Silverstone ST75ZF which looks like a well liked PSU but I've heard about some not so great efficiency, funky smells, as well as RF interference at two different review sites, I’m not sure what that’s all about but that’s a turn off you might say. The system I intend to power with this will be a water cooled (D5 pump and 2x120 or 3x120 rad) and overclocked E6600 setup with an 8800GTX, dual optical drives, four hard drives, and will probably not be SLI for a while, if ever, but I don’t mind having that option. If the OCZ is fine, despite the ripple issue then that looks like the best bet from bang for the buck perspective. Thanks for any feedback. . .as you can see I'm a deliberator! ![]()

The OCZ has worked awesome for me. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Silencer 750 all the way, but remember its larger and may be a tight fit, some modding might be required. 60amp +12 Rail Wowza.

I find that offensive!

$60 for THE best power supply under $200. You are not going to beat it. ANd it's more than "a few" amps, the PC P&C has 60a on its 12v rail.

The OCZ is a great PSU, but the PC P&C is technically better. 1 12v rail is better than 4. But I've never had any problems with mine.
