My computer turned off when I was installing a new hard drive, and now it won't turn back on. So I'll probably just get a new power supply or something unless you have any suggestions?
__________________This is the long story. I was installing the new hard drive. So what happened was is that I was using some Maxtor software to copy the contents of the old drive to the new drive so it would replace the old drive which I would then use as a secondary drive. Because I had GRUB (I used it to dual-boot between Windows and Linux) as the bootloader, it told me that it didn't work with GRUB. I then went on the internet and discovered that I could remove GRUB by overwriting it with the Windows bootloader. I did this by booting from the install disc and typing some commands that a guy said to type but not to me because I used google. Then I successfully booted into Windows without using GRUB because it was overwrited. However, a menu came up showing WINXP and Windows XP Home Edition. The one with WINXP was there because when I was overwriting GRUB, the Windows thing told me that it found an operating system and wanted to know what to call. I called it WINXP. So after booting into Windows XP Home Edition, I restarted and then booted into WINXP. Windows started to load so I figured and still figure that they both loaded the same thing. However, during the boot process, the computer turned off without warning. So now I can't turn it back on. I checked the all the cables, and they're all in. The case is open from installing the hard drive. So my current solution is just to buy another power supply (mine came with a 20$ case) and probably a new case as well. Any ideas?

Make sure the motherboard isn't touching the case at all. That will make it short out and not turn on.

Also, can you check RAM, CPU etc in other computers to troubleshoot each part of the computer?

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I checked everything, and nothing seemed out of place. Oh well.
