The ATX_12v connector is a little 4 pin square connector. on my mobo there's a plug for it near the CPU socket.

Top left of your board... between the two voltage reg heatsinks... near the PS/2 port.

Yeah. That's to give extra power to the board.
If you don't have it in, chances are the rig won't work properly, if at all.

Lol no worries, good job I thought of that.. lol.
Much better than taking it all out of the case! I think if you'd had the speaker plugged in you'd have got a beep code which indicates a power problem anyway.

Hehe nice, 420W is a good amount of power, in fact 300W is fine for a normal 1 HDD / 2 CD ROM system you won't be doing any modifications to.
