Default SILVERSTONE ST75F 750 Modular input?

So i finally decided to get the Silverstone 750watt over the PC power & cooling 750 Quad because it's a lil cheaper. But there are 2 versions of the Silverstone 750Watt PSU. There's the Zeus and the Strider which is modular. Im leaning towards the modular one so can manage my case better. What do you guys think?

I always love the modular PS's just because it saves space and gives the case better cooling abilities, but i havnt look into the details of these two, so i cant say anything cept my previous experiences.

I think they're equal apart from the modularism.

I have the 650W Zeus myself, and it's awesome.

If they are equal i would definatly go for the modular one.

Tidy case = win

Modulars do not equal tidy case. And they're worse for effiecency and overall power-supply-ness.

Wire management is a pain, since the wires come out all over the back of the PSU, it's near impossible to bundle them all together. I use all but two of my cables anyway, so it didn't save me much.

Do yourself a favor and don't get a modular PSU. Hardwired FTW.

Um, no. Efficiency would be at max 0.5% off the hardwired one.

i was reading somewhere that modular psu's lost their power because its modular not wired. Not sure if this is true but if they are exactly the same specs and in efficiency I would go with the modular one. And i haven't seen reviews on that 750watt modular one yet.

When EVER you are talking about 'transferring signal'...whether its AC or DC or RF or anything for that matter....rules apply as follows:

Connections are NEVER perfect.
CONNECTIONS = LOSS
More connections = more chances for failure
Loss is accumulated in both directions of signal 'migration' [on power side and ground]
More loss can increase amperage loading and decrease voltage. [power only]

That said...it seems like the Zues would be the better choice. I have the Strider series...and it works just fine...

*As for the "actual" difference in any voltage outputs or amperage input, due to the difference in connections....its probably very minimal...but there is a greater CHANCE for loss to occur.

They are slightly different. One is SLi 8800 certified, the strider is not. That's why I got the Zeus.

The sata connectors on the zeus are pretty crap though, I broke a bit of plastic off one of them first time I plugged one it, so now that one is unusable.
