latore - NO on the Aspire/Apevia. I tried a 500W and it died in 2-3 days. It was one of the partially clear ones and right before it died there was a little flicker and then it was dead. I just sent the RMA to newegg today. I am looking into getting a 450W from Sunbeam because it is completely acrylic and UV reactive which is exactly what I need. All I will be running with it is a WD 160GB SATA, BFG 7600GT, and 1Optical drive, cpu, mb etc. I can post back if you want and let you know how the Sunbeam brand is working out.
Also. please fill in your System Specs under UserCP. Thanks.

Edit: The rig in my sig has a SeaSonic 600W that is rock solid once i got the Rev A2 one. All the Rev A1 that I got needed to be RMA to newegg.

I had two X-Connect and one X-Finity for testing. They are alright... some of their older units definitely had problems though. Two of my Ultra units suffered from cap/inductor whine. Thermaltake and Ultra are second tier when compared to FSP, Seasonic, PCP&C though.
