while technically, from an intellectually honest stance, I should recommend many sources for PSU reviews... Jonnyguru is in fact the one site I have seen that tests PSUs thoroughly, completely, and he doesn't dick around the reader by not including information. When he lists something that is his personal opinion instead of the opinion of an unbiased reviewer, he states so or makes it plainly obvious. While plugging a PSU up and running it at full load might work for a few weeks, it doesn't demonstrate the quality of the PSU.
It's not only the quality of Jonny's work, but also the quality of the company on Jonnyguru.com forums. Most of the regular posters are people who know tons about power supplies, have had personal experience with the reviewed power supplies, and know how the complex components all function. We've got a guy there who rates the quality of the caps for christsake. Jonny's reviews have been consistent with user reports too, so I strongly believe that Jonny's methodology is superior to most. Many of the review sites that I frequent specialize in graphics cards, processors, overclocking, memory, etc. Jonnyguru specializes in the one component that apparently wasn't flashy enough to deserve it's own review site before. I think, at the very least, he deserves some respect for showing many of us that there is more to a PSU than a metal box and some wires.

No one said he wasn't good, we're just asking for those naysayers to back up what they say is a bad review site.

1) Do they check for and measure ripple on all the different rails at different load levels? 2) Do they measure efficiency at 5-10 different power levels in both a normal and extremely hot environment? 3) Do they open up the power supply and thoroughly inspect the inner components, measuring the quality of each one? If you can answer no on any of the above three, then I consider their PSU reviews sub-standard after reading many Jonnyguru reviews.

what's funny is, you can have a honda civic that has problems, you can have another honda civic, same year, same model, same color, etc, that has no problems. that's a drawback of mass produced items. would that make a honda civic a crappy car? well, the one that was tested and had problems, yes, but that certainly doesn't make the entire model line up crappy, especially not when there's so many customers reporting good things about it.
just because one person reports a bad item, whether he has proof or not, doesn't mean that every single item in that model line up is crappy. you can test an item to the hilt, and it means absolutely nothing. however, when you have 1000's of reports of problems on one particular model, then that's where you draw the conclusion. does johnnyguru do good testing? yes. is it thourough? yes. is his results the end all? absolutely not.

Yes there are other websites that do very good reviews, such as X-Bit Labs and VR Zone, I am just not a fan of Tom's Hardware.

as where i personally feel that ipods are overpriced plastic-wrapped turd nuggets, they are infact highly recommended by the masses. so they obviously do something good, although, whatever that may be doesn't strike my appeal.
