Someone needs to sticky this as it's one of the best PSU guides I've ever seen.
__________________*Note: This entire Guide was written by jonnyGURU and was copied from the jonnyGURU forums to here as an aid for the overclock.net members. __________________ __________________ __________________ __________________ __________________ Recommendations are made on a model by model or product line by product line basis since many companies make such a wide range of product, it is dificult to say things like "Seasonic makes excellent PSU's" or "Coolmax sucks." FYI: The power supplies listed are in no particular order within each tier. Tier 1: PC Power and Cooling Turbo-Cool product line
Enermax Galaxy product line
Enhance products
Of course, there's always more to be added later..... And, before you ask, there's not enough data about the... Enermax Infinity Silverstone Olympia (Taiwan Enhance) FSP built 1000W (OCZ 1000W) CWT built 1000W and 1200W units ...for me to make a judgement call so don't ask. Unlike some sites, I don't go "oh goody! Silverstone has a new PSU!!! Let's make it tier 1" without actually testing it. Sorry. __________________ __________________ __________________ __________________ __________________ Here are some helpful links to the jonnyGURU website that are also helpful. So, is an admin going to sticky this?

Extreme Cooler

Thermaltake Toughpower made it into Tier 3 of JonnyGuru's list. So I guess its a pretty decent PSU.

i dont see why fsp didnt make it higher then the ultra-x and a few others, ive never scene any ripple with my psu and it performs very well, maybe some of there cheaper ones arent that great but for the price they arent bad, i would choose a good fsp over some of the others listed in the tier 2 group
how did they do the testing and do you have a link to the original thread by chance

Why is FSP Tier 3? Is this opinion...or did you read this somewhere?
FSP should be above the level of Antec and Thermaltake IMO.

Why is OCZ Tier 3? It's one of the most highly recommended PSU's on the market today.

lol...
__________________its one of the most highly "over hyped" psu's on the market today. read this review. look at the ripple charts on page 2. That is why it is tier 3. because of its ripple, it will, and undoubtedly kill something in your rig. My friend had the 700W psu, and it killed his ram. and then his motherboard. http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=35

I have never seen anyone here on these forums complain about their OCZ, just because you know of one person who got a bum deal, doesen't mean it's a bad psu. I have heard of folks buying top of the line D9's who had one mysteriously not do what it's supposed to, does not mean they (Microns) make nothing but junk chips. Just my .02 worth.
