My pc was sitting there on desktop and i happened to notice it reboot itself in front of me. Now, it doesn't post, the only real thing ive tried is clearing the CMOS. I think it may be the power supply because its a cheap piece of crap, and btw the fan on it is REVING hardcore on startup. MY proc is O.C. to 3.6 ghz 450 fbs x 8 but i got a tuniq on it and it averages 55 load. So i dont think its the proc its just a possibility. Would anyone like to help me figure out why my computer is all the sudden so instable?

well i havnt tested anything out but i gota strong hunch the psu is the problem, mainly cuz its brand name, cheapness and its lack of ability to keep its fan going without killing itself with the fan blades.... so if i gota like get another one i was thinking this seasonic 500W

Have you tried running the CPU at stock speeds to see if the problem continues?
Anyway, here's a 700watt unit that is highly recommended by DFI/DIY Street for $10 less after mail in rebate.

i would personally take my cpu back down to stock clock speeds and try to boot, if that doesnt work, then i would take the psu out and use a spare one. im sure u have more than one comp in the house.

yea the thing is, i guess its like not.... its showing nothing on the screen when i turn it on. and clearing the cmos will return the speeds back to normal which i've done through jumpers.

new update analysis, power to both my mouse and keyboard are negative. Case Fans are all on and turning, video card fan going. No response from PC says monitor. Does this further indicate a psu issue? or could it still be anything

Hi.
I would start troubleshooting by testing the PSU, or better yet try another PSU. Do you know someone that has a unit that you could borrow for a little while? Eliminating the PSU as the culprit will be a definitive step.

Do you have a UPS on this? If so, that power plug could be Windows Power applet from the Control Panel.
