Default Builing first PC - need help!

I have 2 questions.

1.) WHat is the correct way to install the PSU, with the fan facing up or down? Installs both ways in the case.

2.) My case fans have 4 pin double sided connectors. One side is male and the other female. My PSU can connect to these fans directly with it's female 4 pin connector. My question is: What happens to the female connector of the case fan? Just connects to nothing?

The fan should be facing down

The extra female connector will just sit there doing nothing

Thank you so much. That defenetly moves me in the right direction.

Also, I have a floppy drive. Does it connect to the PSU somehow or does it draw all it's power off the MOBO using the IDE connector?

make sure also that the fan is sucking air out of the case and not blowing it into the case. I woulda assume that's most (if not all) power supplies are supposed to come, but I think i remember someone saying that theirs had the bottom fan blowing down, which really sux
