Default need a suggestion

going to be ordering an 8800GTS 640MB soon and would like to get a new power supply and just need some suggestions. been looking at the OCZ GXS but want to know if there is something better, i can spend up to about $200 max. i'd also prefer it to be modular so its easier to clean up the cables :P but if not its fine too!

You can check out the PSU in my sig.

130 shipped if you go to jonnyguru.com and the hot deals section, 54A on the 12V, PCI-E 8pin connector, quiet as heck.

Not modular though.

How important is modular to you?

$200 max?

I'd say give PCPower&Cooling a call and see if the 750W Silencer is still available or the 610W, here's the link for the special pricing: http://www.pcpower.com/specials/

Or get a brand new 610W: http://www.pcpower.com/products/view...hp?show=S61EPS

$155. PC Power & Cooling are the best PSUs on the market.

Wait! You want quiet, modular, and a great freakin' PSU? Corsair 620watt PSU. Hands down, the best modular PSU I have ever read about or seen.

I wouldn't buy a SilverStone strider, or at least the higher watt ones. The Strider model is growing pretty long in the tooth, and Silverstone needs to update or re-engineer it. The 850 watt one isn't that great.

I also wouldn't buy newegg. Let me find a good place that sells it cheap for you (the Corsair one).

Ah ok. My mistake.

Here's the Corsair PSU I was talking about-
http://www.provantage.com/corsair-cm...x~7CSMC02Y.htm

140USD.

If modular isn't a big concern, the PSU in my sig is 130USD.

Both are awesome performers, and well worth the money.
