Hiper is not a good choice. If you want a modular PSU, get an Enermax Liberty.

There's quite a few people here having or had issues with the Hiper.

The older hipers like the one you mention did have a few ATX2.1 faileirs however thay are stunning to look at and the NEW versions like the 580w one are very reliable

I'd recommend these two and that's what I'd get if I were to get an 8800 GTS:

mushkin 550200 ATX12V 550W Power Supply $79.99 AMIR.

XCLIO GREATPOWER X14S4P3 550W ATX12V 550W Power Supply $89.99

Now, if you want fancy schmancy stuff? go for it, I wouldn't buy anything that's not reliable just because it has a disco ball along with some Bee Gees greatest hits CD.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

I would personally recommend either of the Corsair PSU's. They are really high quality, stable, quiet, and all (I believe) modular.
