Default What size PSU would I need for...

I plan on running,

C2D, (1)8800 GTS, 2 gigs Corsair XMS, 680i Mobo, 250 gig HDD.

How big of a PSU do I need? 500w ok?

You would need a QUALITY power suply more then watts.

I would recomend the OCZ 700W, or Silverstone 500W + or PC Power and Cooling 750W

MY rule of thumb: Never skimp on the power supply and motherboard becuse the power supply and motherboard are the most important parts in a computer.

I think you need at least a 600W. But the amps it eh thing that really matters. Not how much power it provides, but the current.

Any large brand, good quality 550-600w PSU will more more than sufficient.

I recommend the Corsair 520W for about $96.

It is made by Seasonic, has up to +12V@40A, modular & has a 5yr warranty.

That'll do it.

If you want more power (for whatever reason), look at the 650W Silverstone Olympia for $149.99 at Newegg. 54A on a single 12V rail.
