did i buy a bad psu?
Ok well the psu I bought was a coolmax cxi 600b and was wondering if its up to the game of my system. It claimsto have three 12v rails ranging 12v1 14amps 12v2 23amps and 12v3 15 amps, any input valued.

Personally, I have bad experciences with Coolmax (one turned my PC in an auto-reboot system the moment I put more than an idle load on anything, the second exploded... taking the mobo down in it's demise).
If you can, I would try to exchange.

Not a fan of CM PSU's either, just read a couple nasty reviews that did it for me.

well i cant return it as my handicapped stepfather burnt the box, guess im sol, i guess the egg wont exchange without the box right?

well what u guys recommend for around a hundred bucks, guess i could use this psu for a car amp sub mod to my home system, I have a aspire atx as500w kicking around not doing anything would that be better, one rail 34amps, only prob is 20 pin connector not 24 suggests please?

you dont need the extra pins...just plug it in..it works fine on 20.
I dont know if I would use the other single rail PSU over the three-rail...I mean, hell its got 3 x 12v rails...its gonna spread the voltage out a little, which will ease the load...If you CAN run on the single rail PSU, then sell the other one to an un-suspecting friend to get your $$ back, then upgrade on a good part. XD

so what, the three or single? Im getting confused, also on the three rail, how do i know what rail is powering what?

use the single rail....if it works ok, then I would sell the coolmax. If the single doesnt 'put-out' then use the coolmax...
was just tryin to help ya get rid of it.
