Default 24pins?

What do the extra 4 pins do on a 24 pin power connection? I'm running my system on 20 pins right now and it all seems to be running smoothly. Although i have an inkling that its for the PCI-E am i right?

They supply more physical contact area for greater current, in order to reduce heat & line loss.

The use of native 24-pin ATX is very important in high performance systems.

If your PSU has 24pins, and your mobo has a 24 pin connector, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD USE ALL 24 PINS
