Default Help meh! suspected 500w PSU death.

I came home today, and tried to turn on my computer.
Im running an a 500w PSU, AMD 3800+ X2 (2.0, i have OCd to 2.3mhz) , SLI GeForce 7600gts, 4 gigs dual channel ddr400, and a new SATA HD 300gb that i just put in a couple weeks ago.

I upgraded from 2 IDE 40gb HDs(trash now),

Anyway, i tried to turn it on and i couldnt get it to start. I have a blue LED on the case, and a red LED on the mobo that run even if the computer is off, and they were on. But i couldnt get anything.

A couple weeks ago when i put in the new HD, when i tried to turn on the computer, i had to turn the PSU on and off several times, and hold the power button down to get it to start. I've had to hold the power button down since then to start it. And had to reset the PSU also.

Also, in just the past couple days, i've seen increased load times, and hicupping in gaming.

Ok, now after all that rambling, is my PSU fried?

Thanks

Its the PSU that comes with the Antec TX1050B.
I was reading online about how bad Antec PSUs are but i really dont know anything about PSUs.

And my 24/4 pin mobo connectors were connected.

1. reset the cmos, then boot normaly(dont change anything in bios.

2. If the computer turns on a bit, then stops, it's the psu.

3. if it doesnt EVEN start at all, it's most likely the mobo. because even my two dead PSUs do turn on for 1.5 seconds before powering down.

It doesnt start at all. The reason i think its the PSU, is because in the past, i've had to switch the PSU on and off to get the computer to power up.

I don't really know how to reset my CMOS, i'll look something up on biostar.

there are 3 pins under the chipset fan. turn of the comp, unplug the power. take out the little connector and connect the pin #2 and the pin #3 (counting from the left, with the motherboard upright, 1 2 3)

(pins are right next to where the chipset fan connects.)

count ten seconds, then return the connector to the original position ( #1 and #2)

plug power back, turn on computer and see.
Another way to clear CMOS is to disconnect the power and take out the battery. If you want efffectivenes, you can try both. first taking out the battery, then putting it back, then switching the pins.

I reset my CMOS, and still get nothing when trying to power up the computer.
I'm gonna get a new PSU tonite and try that out.

If thats not the issue, then other possible solutions would be
-Change the CMOS battery?
-New mobo?

You won't need to change the CMOS battery... all it does is saving your BIOS settings and it doesn't hinder booting.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

Try to jump start it and see if it works. Unplug the psu from everything, then plug in a hard drive or a few fans, and use a paper clip to jump it. Jump start it from the dark green wire to the black wire next to it. If it starts I'd say the psu is good and something else caused it to not start properly. It will only stay on as long as the paper clip is inserted.
