My first post cause I found this thread while having the EXACT same issues so nice to be here
:My issue is explained here: http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=448319 I ALSO have the Rev 3/B PSU from Antec and have the ASUS EN8800GT. So it is confirmed, the Rev 3/B is not 100% fixed!! I got my 8800GT on Friday and my Antec PSU about 2months ago. I was using a X1950XTX before and it was perfectly fine with my 850W PSU. As soon I plugged in my 8800GT the damn sentinal issue comes up! Antec, you guys need to start recalling these PSU's or at least make a public announcement that these PSU's are problematic cause i spent a crapload of money on this PSU and I am super upset about this!

Thanks Run
![]() so I went to the supplier to see whether they would swop it out or not. They were kind enough to do so. They swopped it out for an Enermax 850W Galaxy PSU. The card is perfectly fine now! ![]() PSU can be found here: http://www.enermax.com/english/produ...y1.asp?PrID=76 Should Antec not publicy announce that their TPQ PSU's are problematic still? I'm glad that your problem has been resolved, Gabba. Shame that it had to mean you swapped out your Antec PSU for a different brand, but at least the problem is gone now.

Well, Sorry Gabbadude, I can now confirm that it isn't just an Antec issue.
Its happening with my Enermax Galaxy 850W PSU and my 8800GT. http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/2622...ml#post3021744 This could be a ticking time bomb as the 8800GT returns to stock following the initial limited launch stocks. The Enermax tech support guy, thinks I have just been unlucky and got a faulty PSU, but I suspect its more than that and I am just the "tip of the iceberg". ![]() http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=17798624 The guy is willing to RMA my PSU and ship me a new item that will be pre tested on a 8800 GTX but they haven't got a 8800GT to test it on..my worry is similar to the OP's they could just be sending me a unit that could do exactly the same, wasting yet more of my time. Let the games begin !

Hi Ademcg - Please keep us posted on your progress. I strongly considered the Galaxy PSU for the 2nd system I'm building. I'm concerned at the trend of GTX and GT cards that are having conflicts with the PSUs. Somebody, somewhere in R&D for these products (NVidia/Antec/Enermax/whoever) did not communicate with their peers to make sure their products play nice with each other. That is just careless on their part. ![]() Hang in there!

It would appear that I have upset Enermax UK, by daring to suggest that one of their products may actually have a problem and that I might not be the only one. I don't think I insisted on convincing anyone that the Galaxy 850 W unit has a widespread fault. lets just get that straight.![]() And I think as a customer who has paid £160 for a product I am totally entitled to expect it to work, irrespective of its previous reputation. If the fault does in fact relate in some way to the PG (power good ) signal, just one theroy though, then this could be different from each PSU, even of the same brand...I would love to know what Antec did to "tweak" their units. Just to clarify the position, the fact of the matter is, MY Enermax Galaxy 850W PSU does not work with My configuration, this being: Gigabyte 8800GT 512 mb Abit IX38 QuadGT Motherboard Intel Q6600 GO SLACR Crucial ballistix 8500 Ram if you want to see the actual reply mail me

I am not as computer knowledged as some of the people here but I think I am experiencing the same problem.
I have an Antec Truepower Quattro 850 W power supply. Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 ghz 4GB Corsair dominator Ram currently running 2 ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT cards. I keep getting an error from source ati2mtag. Category : Powerplay Event ID : 6146 Insufficient power to operate graphics card at standard settings My friend told me that this power supply would be more than adequate to run both cards, but maybe it isn't? This is one of the only threads i've seen with a similar problem so any advice is appreciated. Sometimes it will run fine for hours even a day without problems, other times it crashes during startup or most often during world of warcraft. Crashes several times in a row. My friend mentioned some software patch fix for this, but i can't seem to find out what he is talking about. |

Hi Dynon - Welcome to OCN! Interesting that this is on an ATI card. Are you running the latest drivers? The other question is what happens if you use either a secondary PSU (like the Thermaltake 250W I used) or a different power supply that just powers the graphics card? I documented how to do all this earlier in this thread if you need help.

First - Hey Enermax UK- +Rep for the politically correct clarification. LOL!Secondly, same recommendation to you as to Dynon - go pick yourself up a Thermaltake 250w just to power the graphics card or a different brand of PSU that has all 12v on one rail and use it just on the graphics card, to see if that solves your problem. If not, the Enermax likely isn't your problem. If the problem/error message goes away, then let your Enermax Rep RMA the PSU and buy you a beer the inconvenience. ![]() Let us know how it goes!
