BFG has actually been said to make some really nice, solid PSU's. The specs on that bad boy look great as well. 20Amp x 4 12v rails.

For the price, there are better PSUs like PCP&C, Silverstone, or Corsair.

At least when they first started coming out with them, they were. I read a few reviews about them when they first started making them (about a year ago I think).

Actually, this particular 800W is the one BFG PSU I don't plan to make any drastic changes to. It's actually a decent unit. The only real complaint is that there are only two PCIe connectors and they're only 6-pin. Other than that, it's rated at 40°C (so it can actually put out 800W in a system) is typically 80% efficient and is relatively quiet (despite the pair of 80's.)
Here's an unbiased review: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...ly-review.html Once they're out of stock, I'll probably just take the same platform, change the heatsinks and put it in a housing with a 135MM fan and, of course, attach much longer and more PCIe cables. FYI: This 800W is not to be confused with the "ES-800" I'm currently working on for BFG. |
