Default Computer Keeps Cutting out

Hey guys,

My computer keeps randomly cutting out. It could be after 5 minutes or 30. It is really bugging me. It only started this morning and I have not changed anything in the computer for at least 2 months.

Any help. Thanks

Need more information, please, to make a proper diagnosis.

Perhaps some questions to help get to the bottom of things:

What are you doing on the machine when it crashes?

How are your temperatures?

Is your cooling system functioning properly?

How are your voltages?

How healthy is your HDD?

How healthy is your RAM?

Have you scanned for malware on your machine?

Any of these might cause a sudden shutdown.

The HDD is healthy. The voltages are normal. Ram is okay. Connections are fine an have been fine for the past few weeks

I think there is something wrong with my cooling system.

As for malware i dont think this is the case as i did a scan and nothing showed and the comp runs fine when using it. It crashes on anything. It could be a movie, running a scan, browsing the net.

Yeah it's one of those "could be anything" probs

I would start with scanning the PC with AV SW and Spybot S & D and then check to see if all the drivers are up to date. Then move to setting BIOS to optimized defaults.

AFter that do a full HW check. Use a utility like HD Tune to check the SMART on the HDDs and check for errors/ bad sectors.

Take a look at the Voltages using PC Probe or Everest.

Make sure your RAM is set to SPD and in spec RE volts and timings.

Hell reseat the Heatsink even.

If none of that does anything back up all your data and reinstall and see if that helps.
