Default If I plug a power cable into the PSU it should turn on right?

If I take just my PSU and plug the power cable into it and turn it on it should start up right?

if i understand you correctly and you just want to test the psu, and not run the whole computer, you need to trick the psu into thinking the mobo is connected, by doing this trick http://www.dvhardware.net/modules.ph...rticle&artid=5

you would need to use some sort of jumper to turn it on I believe. by plugging it it it will be energized but it would be outputting power per say, ie for testing or powering something else like fan and what not.

hopefully that made some sence.

You can't unless you connect the ground and something else I think... There's a thread floating around somewhere...

Get a paperclip, connect the green wire and any ground pin (black) on the 24 pin connector. Should turn right on
