Yeah it would be alright. The quad can use that much but he doesn't have much else in the system so the total will only be like 200W.

edit: Since the budget is up, either that CM I linked earlier or either of these: the FSP built Silverstone ST350, or the Antec EA-500.

Why have a DVDrom drive? It just sucks some of the power away. My old PSU came with case was 420 watt. But the 12v rail was only getting 11.11 I took out my DVD burner and it went to 11.33. That little difference took my pc from booting up 1 time every 10 tries to 90% of the time.

Before it would slowly freeze after being on it for 30 - 1 hr. After i took it out, it never locked up on me.

LOL, i bought a game a few days before my new PSU came in... Took a couple tries to get the thing installed heh. Started to debate mapping my dvd drive on laptop and running it trough cat5

hahah

thats called desperation...

back on track - go with whatever you think you would see fit as it is your choice. should you want to keep this folding for a long time and just replace the cpu whenever in the future, the extra 20-30 bucks will probably be worth it for your bills and peace of mind.

if you have a cheap PSU around just use that. If it has any issues, then buy a new one.

If you are building a PC purly for folding... im sure you have a PSU laying around.

For many reasons, one the cost of buying a gpu(good folding one is going to be $130+ easily) plus the cost to my electric bill, read my response to the next reply for more on that.
Would a $19 HD3450 yield more points than a single 3.6GHz C2D core?

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it will work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) If you have a question, it is not news (6) Report, not respond to Spam (7) Single/Non-Modular Rail PSUs are NOT better than Multi-Rail/Modular
