Default Tyan n6650w PSU Compatibility (could use some help)

I just purchased a Tyan n6650w and now I am trying to figure out what power supply I am going to need. the board requires an EPS12v PSU, but the manual states that an ATX 2.xx PSU will damage the motherboard. I cannot for the life of me find an EPS12v PSU that is not also listed as being an ATX 2.xx PSU.

Has anyone ever used this mobo? Does anyone know what exactly the conflict might be? Are they just saying that a PSU must be EPS12v, not just ATX 2.xx?

If I do need to use an EPS12v PSU that is not ATX 2.xx, where might I find one in 900w-1000w and preferably with SLI support.

Just a note, I am an experienced user, but I haven't built on a server platform in about 6 years, so this PC is a little ambitious for. I've done allot of research so far to ensure I buy all the correct parts, but this has eluded me. the only issue I still have after I figure this out is just how/which slots to setup the SLI, but that is for another thread. Also, when the board arrives(any day now) I'll be starting a build log, so if you're interested be sure to keep an eye out.

Thanks in advance for any and all support!!

I think any ATX 24-pin connector should do the job.

Well, I'm still stumped why they said no ATX 2.x. If a PSU is EPS12V then it will be ATX 2.x. I looked in the manual and looked at the pin outs for the main connector and they are standard ATX layout. PC P&C has a PSU recommendation section and lists standard EPS12V/ATX2.x PSUs: http://www.pcpower.com/Tyan/S2915--THUNDER-N6650W-.html. IMO as long as it is EPS12V certified you are good to go. Now for recommendations. The Corsair hx1000 is the go to PSU ATM since it is normally priced well and is one of the best. Any of these would be good too, there are lots of quality PSUs at this level: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...256044&bop=And. They all have the proper connectors and enough power for you.

Thanks ever so much for the research and recommendations! That was the conclusion I had come to, but wasn't about to order one and plug it in to test

That Corsair has all the features I was hopping for, and that is a good price, so I think you sold me on that.

MB should be here on the 1st, case and fans are in the mail, and the PSU is next on my list along with a heatsink and proc, as soon as my paycheck and stimulus arrives. Then a vid card and I'm set. You've removed the last roadblock for me

Provantage also has a good price on the Corsair: http://www.provantage.com/corsair-cm...x~7CSMC068.htm. Depending on shipping it may be cheaper than buy.com. I would say provantage is a little more reputable than buy.com ATM as well.
