Ok, I need a decent UPS that can keep a computer with a 750watt PSU in it running long enough for me to get it shut down. I need one as cheep as possible and that I might be able to find at a Best Buy or Circuit City.
__________________This may not be a normal part of a gaming rig, but the power in my area isn't very reliable during the Summer. We've already had quite a few power outages this Summer so far. When I'm spending this much on a computer, I don't want to take any chances (power surges, drops, outages ect.) Thanks!

I'm not sure if I'm right so correct me if I'm wrong the one avr512 picked should get you 1.6 min of time before it runs out of power (24min*50watts=1200/750watts=1.6min) this one should get you 71.2min http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Nexxt...oductDetail.do(89min*600watts=53400/750watts=71.2min)
__________________avr512 pick should be fine just to be able to shutdown when the power goes out but I'm not sure how that works with other peripherals my times will be shorter not sure how much, depends on the peripherals watts and power drain

Dude, I just checked. A 2kw UPS is WAY too expensive, under $100 is more what I'm looking for. I only need something to keep my computer and monitor running for awhile.

Post your system specs please. I highly doubt you need a 750w rated UPS.
Also, you don't need to shutdown the PC with a UPS. Most UPS have a USB port that connects to your PC. Once the battery is down to a certain percentage or UPS is used at all, software will tell your system to shutdown.

if you go here it should give you an idea of how much your comp will be using in power

I'm in the process of building the rig that will be connected to this. It's gonna have: 780i, E8400 (going to OC), 2x 2GB RAM, 8800GTS (will OC\going SLI in future), 2x 500GB HDDs (getting a couple faster drives in the future), and Corsair 750watt PSU.
__________________So I could just have a small UPS, and it'll basically just shut down at the same time the UPS kicks in? If it's not too expensive, I wouldn't mind having a little time to finish what I'm doing before shutdown but if it's over $100 it doesn't matter. Thanks
