With another 8800GTX in the mail, I realized that I'm going to need a new PSU to handle both of them in SLI.
I have found some Power Supplies that may be options: Silverstone ST75F 750W PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W OCZ EliteXStream OCZ800EXS 800W Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750W One of these, or a different one? What are your thoughts/suggestions? Thanks in advance. ![]()

700 watt isnt going to handle it? Bro think of stuff for the future. Get a 1000 watt so that if you want 3way you wont have 2 buy another psu after that.

I never, ever plan on going for Tri-SLI. Quote:
I never plan on going Tri-SLI, and will eventually build a completely new rig and sell this one or use it as backup. A 1000W PSU is unnecessary for me.

700W ultra isn't going to handle it... not even close
![]() The Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750W is my first choice. Second, the PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W. The other two I wouldn't even consider. The 'Strider' series is Silverstone's only mistake in the PSU market, and should simply be ignored (they're not *that* bad, but not very good either), while I'd never recommend anything OCZ whateverXStream. Most of these PSUs are based on an FSP platform that has a high ripple on the 12V rails at high loads. The Corsair and PC P&C are very good PSUs though. If you ever plan Tri-SLI, 1000W is an option indeed... but if you only have $150 or so, just get that Corsair 750W beast.

Yeah the Ultra isn't going to cut it. Any of those PSUs you listed would be fine with the Strider performing slightly behind the rest. For the price the Corsair from buy.com is about the best deal ATM.
edit: Gah, I was beat .
