Default A new product saves you money and improves your electronics.

It is a long explanation, though I have recently looked into this and it does really work. Apparently it saves you on your electric bill, eliminated "noise" from all your electronic including your PC. +Protects against surge spikes and other like things. They are even so confident that they will refund any damages in electronics from a storm up to $25,000 bucks. Vid link below.

Note: When they say it reduces power costs on your electric bill, they are not pulling your leg from the demonstration I saw.

I fail to see how this can reduce your electricity bills. It basically adds PFC (power factor correction) for you house and filters the incoming AC power. The filters are kind of useful but not really that important and they also claim it will protect against lightning strikes. I've got to call BS on that. If your house is wired correctly a lightning strike will be directed into the ground and you should already breakers or fuses for this sort of thing.

The PFC is the interesting part. It is true that houses only have an average power factor of ~0.7. That means that if you are using 700W, the power company has to supply 1000VA of power. You aren't using 1000W, but due to feedback from your appliances and electrical devices, it seems like you are using 1000W. Now, for residential this isn't a problem. They usually charge by the kWh so you will only be charged for the 700W. Businesses are normally charged by the VA so this would make sense in that scenario.

I already have something like that. The company, however, marketed it under the less well known name "surge protector"

Yeah it just gets wired into your main panel. Like I said, as long as you are charged by the kW-h, this thing is basically useless.

This isn't spam... pretty cool concept if you know a bit about electricity. However, if it costs more than like... 20 power bars then mehs....
