I just go the OCX ModXStream 900W psu for my sig rig. Liking it so far, and works great non-overclocked.
anyway i bumped my e4600 to 3.2 (from 2.4) and and it booted/ran fine. Yet after the reboot it wont even post and i have to reset cmos by removing the battery. I had this problem with my previous psu, a 450W deer pos. Why wont the overclock last more than one boot?

This sounds more like a BIOS settings issue to me. First, E4600 is 12x, even 3.2G, the fsb is 267 so in the default mode, ram needs to 4x267=1066. What typs of ram do you have? May need to change the ratio from 2:1 to 1:1 or others and give a try. Second, from 2.4 to 3.2, you need to adjust the voltages of vcore and NB as well as SB.

![]() My mem is OCZ 800 ddr2 and for the overclock i dropped the multiplier to 9 and made the fsb 360 I've never changed ratios i'll have a look. I upped vcore to 1.6 but i've read my board suffers from a significant voltage drop for the cpu. will have a look for the ratios in my bios.

you dont need more than a 350w-400w quality psu for your setup. MAJOR overkill.

Maybe your ram speeds are to high.

Check the dram freq section. Select one close to 800MHz first. vcore 1.6 isn't good. Keep it under 1.5v. 12x cpu at 3.2G, the fsb is 267 so vcore should be around 1.45v. Of course, each chip acts differently.
