Hi all
__________________I have been getting a list of computer components together for a new build, well a sorta half new build lol Im going to be changing to a antec1200 over my antec900 for more room and adding a 9800GTX for sli Basically, is the Thermaltake toughpower W0117RU 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply strong enough for sli and my my toys( i have a sunbeam 20watt fan controller and replaced all of my case fans with the scythe slipstreams and upgrading to the Evga 780i mobo) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153036 thats my psu, I have been doing some serious newegging and looking for new psu's But to be honest I really really like my current psu. So basically Question 1: will my current psu be strong enough for my current setup +1 9800GTX Question 2: If I decide to step up to the Gt280 or maybe even 2 HD 4870's will it handle the load? Basically Im trying to see if this psu is "futureproof" enough I have been looking at this antec 850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371009 I really dont want to spend more than $230 for a psu and $230 is really pushing it. any help is appreciated fellas and Im always open for any ideas and what not

The Toughpowers are good units. It has 60A on the 12V rail and it can handle 9800gtx SLI, 4870 crossfire and maybe gtx280 sli. Since you are only running a dual core, I think you would be fine with 2 gtx280s since power consumption would be around 600W. If you go adding a bunch of HDs or upgrade to an OCed quad you should think about getting a little more power but even at that, the Antec has 64A on the 12V so it wouldn't be much of an upgrade. The Antec is a good PSU but there's not much of a point upgrading unless you get into the 70A range since 4A is only 48W (some stuff from Silverstone and a few 1000W units like the Ultra X3 or Antec TPQ-1000).

Love the toughpowers, that'll take your SLI no problem and don't let anyone tell you otherwise

I reread your post and it you said step up to a gtx280 so if you are only running one, then it would definitely be good to go. That PSU should handle just about anything so it will last you a while.
