Default PSU Recommendation

Okay, so I plan on getting a Visiontek HD 4850 sometime soon, and I'm not sure if my no-name 450W (according to the PSU, haven't tested it) will run it. Can anyone recommend a PSU good enough to run one 4850, along with everything else (admittedly, not much, but I'll be building a new rig sometime next year) for someone on a pretty tight budget (not exactly sure how much, but not much)? Thanks in advance!

You want to get a new one. Your current one might run it wattage wise, but I highly doubt it has the amperage on the 12V rail.

A Corsair 550VX is the minimum I would say.

Well, do you have some sort of price range? Can't help ya unless I have some sort of idea...

This is a pretty good one:

A Corsair HX520 will be sufficient for one 4850, however for futureproofing, I always reccomend the TX750. It has 4 PCI-e connectors and is not that much more expensive than the 520, as well as it having alot more amps on the 12v rail.

It's advertised as 20A on the 12V, but no guarantees, I suppose.

And @onexero - Again, I don't specifically have a price range, I just want a good one for a generally low price, if possible.

Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX Power Supply

$24.99 AR

It will run that rig just fine and it's a quality unit, I've used this power supply in four rigs with absolutely no problems.

Okay, since an HD 4850 will be my only upgrade until next summer, when I plan on building a new rig altogether, I'll either go with the Corsair HX520, or the Thermaltake TR2 430W (if you're sure it'll run my current setup, only replacing the HD2600Pro with an HD 4850, which you seem pretty confident of!), so thanks everyone for the fast and great responses!

Of those two, my choice would easily be the Corsair. Awesome PSU's.
