Yeah, the last area I would want to skimp is the power supply. I did quite a bit of research and made sure I got a quality product and left myself enough overhead to make sure my PSU doesn't fail too quickly. I remember being told PSUs are one of the most common components to fail in a computer.

I give you kudos, though. I like to take risks on budget brands from time to time, I just wouldn't want to do it with one of the most important components in my rig.

he has a mere e6300 w/ a 7600GT. I don't think it will put that much stress for a psu even if it is powmax.

That is a 200W power supply, it has a single 17A rail, 17x12=204. I would not put a celeron on it, much less a C2D, you will end up destroying something.

I have personally had a power supply blow up, I had to get 3 stitches on my leg from the "shrapnel" of it, it ended up destroying almost my entire rig, I would cancel your order immediately

EDIT> there is a corsiar 400W on newegg for $40 with a $10 MIR!!

Ok, after reading your comments, and numerous reviews on Powmax as a brand, I think I'm going to return to sender this thing as soon as it hits the door, and spend a little more money.

It's not about stress, it's about reliability. That's like a Daewoo versus a freaking Lambo. Grab a decent Corsair or Earthwatts at least.
