400W is sufficient but you may want to go with a 500W-550W watt to allow for more upgradability/OCing in the future...
PSU is the last part of a system you'd want to skimp on.

No mate you better get a new PSU to get 100% performance from the RIG the amps on the 12v rail if but the wattage is too low go for a 550 ~ 750W
And if your going to overclock the stuff high i tell to go for better PSU.

Youll be fine with your new setup, even with a overclock. If a gpu is in the near future then a psu prior wouldnt be a bad idea.

and those calculators are the real BS because watts really are not that important its the amps you need to watch out for. but i believe that for your setup, the psu should be fine for stock speeds up to a light-medium OC. however, with only one 12v rail, you would definitely need to look into a new psu if you plan to upgrade to a new video card.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I will most likely be sticking with my GTS 250 for a while when it comes to video cards... it serves it's purpose. Not sure if 3.5 is considered high, but that is the overclock I was going to shoot for with the X3.
+rep to everyone that helped.

Going Broke Overclocking

Being he has 30a on his 12v+ rail, it should work for him with his current system. But, the current PS will be pushing its load very high and the higher the load the hotter it runs and the stability or the PS varies more at high load.

go for a 500-600 Watt PSU, especially if you plan to obatin High Power GPU's which wikl require all of those special PCI-E Power Pins. For SLI rigs Id say around 750-800 W depending on the card.

The gts250 is a 150w GPU and draws about 130w on load. It should be fine for a moderate OC but limits the upcoming upgrade.

YES IT WILL WORK.
I'm am fed up of seeing people replying in these threads about how it will be a little low etc etc when it will be fine. Look at all I am running on a VX450, there is a 50w difference and a few amps lost on the 12v rail.
