Default Corsair 750tx vs Antec TP-750

I know the TP-750 is more efficient, but which one is better in terms of max power output and cable length?

Not sure on a professional review, but antec pcu's are known for being some of the most reliable PSU's on the market. I have rolled with antec for years never had one problem always put out (lol) they are both great psu's i would choose the antec though!

Do you think the antec is worth the extra $5?

They have the same total output on the 12V rail, 744W.

The Antec's power cables length:

ATX connector (540mm)
5.25" Drive (540mm+150mm+150mm)
3.5" Drive connectors (+150mm)
SATA (540mm+150mm+150mm)
8 pin EPS12V (540mm)
4 pin ATX12V (540mm)
6+2 pin PCIe (570mm)

And the Corsair:

ATX connector (580mm)
8-pin EPS12V/ATX12V connector (610mm)
5.25" Drive (400mm+150mm+150mm+150mm)
3.5" Drive connectors (+150mm)
SATA (395mm+150mm+150mm+150mm)
2 x 4 PCIe (610mm)

The Antec is the better PSU. Even though its cables are slightly shorter, you're fine with the lengths that it gives you, and is easily worth the extra $5, even just for the modularity.

Quote:
these just hit the market, so there's not much stock anywhere on them yet. Fortunately, Antec told me the MSRP on this unit: $159.95. The Seasonic M12D, which this unit comes close to performance wise, is about a hundred smackers more money. At the same time, you can get a Corsair 750W for significantly cheaper, but I'd have to say the extra cost on this unit is worth it. And if the initial retail prices I'm seeing on this unit are anywhere near accurate, Antec is going to be almost impossible to beat on this one. 10.
Taken from here.

Edit: The Antec is a SeaSonic built PSU, which is superior to the Corsair's CWT PSH design.

I've been wondering the same thing between the Antec and the Corsair 750HX, actually. the Corsair is single rail and more efficient, but the TP has been on sale so many times on newegg that I've lost track... Are the 4 +12v rails that bad?

Haha, absolutely you can't substitute price with performance.. and the antec has a good amount of cable length but not too much

I'm getting an antec 902 at some point, would I have to get any extensions for the antec?

You might need an 8-pin extension for both PSUs, if you want to route the cable up the back properly, it also depends on where your 8-pin power slot thingy is on your motherboard.

Edit: The Antec case stands about 49cm (490mm) tall, you should be able to just get away without an extension, I should think.

When my 750TX was in my P180B my 8 pin cable had a good 3 inches of length left when I plugged it in, and the P180B is a taller case than the 902. He'll be more than fine

I guess I'll go with the antec.

My final question: Which first, 5770 or TP-750?
