Default Will this power supply be able to handle this rig?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371015

650 watts
+3.3V@25A,+5V@25A,+12V1@22A,+12V2@22A,
+12V3@25A,-12V@0.5A,+5VSB@2.5A

So I was thinking of doing this

core i5 oc'ed to 3.8~4.0ghz
Decent socket 1136 mobo
6ghz ddr3 1600 ram.
SLI GTX 260 (I currently have one, so I'm wondering if I would be okay for another)
1... maybes 2 SSDs
a small external hdd...
some case fans lol

If it draws too much because of SLI, would I be okay with a single 5850 or 5870 then?

Thanks in advance for help guys

Hi.

This article may help you.

"A second GeForce GTX 260 requires you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit at minimum if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 50 Amps available on the 12 volts rails."

I'm not sure to be honest. I think you would need a little bit more (maybe 750W). The only reason I'm saying this is because my PSU at the moment is just on the fence of handling my rig. I have 2x GTS 250s and an overclocked E8400. With your rig, it would cosume considerably more power than mine would yet that power supply is only 20W more.

I'd definitely go for at least a 750W.

Alright, I'll just stick to swapping out with a 5870 or something else later...

All things considered, the psu would be ok with just the one card but would be close. If you upgrade later with another gpu you would need to beef up the psu so I would have to say at the very least a 750w and more so a 850w psu.

I dont even think a 650w would even have 4x 6pin connectors?(maybe they do :P), to be on the safe side i'd recommend a 750w+ atleast

Most GTS 250s these days only have one PCI-e 6-pin connector. So if he were to get two (XFX, PNY for example -- for some reason my Sparkle GTS 250 has two) he would only need two 6-pins.

Cheers

People over estimate how much wattage a computer really needs. It is good to future proof but only to a limit.

Always take a better brand power supply than a higher wattage one.

That's wierd, I put everything in from your signature and it came to 254w. Hmmm....
