I took the PSU antec calc and i am around 20-30 watts away from hitting 550w with my current system. Also, my games play slower than what they should and crysis laggs a bit with no AA on a small screen. Are my parts getting enough power? How many watts is my 4890 taking up when its overclocked at the speeds in my sig rig? My quad uses 181watts!!

It's possible that this stutter is your HDD and not any other part of your setup.
You are running two different drives in RAID 0 with probably 2 different platter sizes which can cause stutter. This is why you try to RAID exact drives, IE 2 x 320GB AAKS drives, or 2 x F3 500GB drives.

Well even on 1Ghz 1.4v (GPU) & 1.6v 3.7ghz (CPU) you still are barely getting close to 400watts (386watts by my estimation) and your PSU has 492watts on the 12v Rail, so you are fine there.

I hade stuttering before i even used 2 hard drives never mind raid 0 btw. How come the antec calculater says otherwise to your estimation.
The 4890 uses 190watt full load (at stock) my quad at 3.7ghz/1.4vcore uses 181watts full load As you can see, i think i need more power. Any power supply suggestions that are cheap but good?

First, those calcs spit out the PSU size you should buy, not what your system consumes. Second, while gaming I doubt you go much higher than 300W and if you could find a way to absolutely max everything you will not break 400W.

Now am getting mixed idea's. It is not a power issue and it is a power issue. The only thing to settle this is evidence that my PC only breaks 400w.

Your computer does not pull 550W. Not even close.

Antec list the power draw as high because they want you to buy a new psu.
You are not having power issues - generally these are easy to pinpoint as you don't tend to get a shutdown you get a BSOD or a full shutdown. Rather than RAIDing those 2 disks you might be better off keeping them separate & installing Windows to one of them and your games to the other. |
